Sundial
This large private sundial has been constructed on a garden wall of a house in Cole's Lane. It has been very helpfully located so that passers-by can check their watches as they walk along the road. the base of the sundial is concrete with a steel rim with small stainless pins marking the hours. The gnomon is mild steel and the time seemed to be very accurate when I checked it. (10.55am)

Approaching Coles's Lane
On Axminster Footpath 18, crossing the field shown in Image] to meet the lane. In fact, the path sticks to the edge of the field past the old field boundary of bushes, which are on the line of a tiny tributary of the Mill Brook, before joining the lane 50 metres further on.
