The Old Brush Works, Axminster
This oddly-shaped mill building, with three tall storeys, is at the foot of Castle Hill. For the last 30 years it has been the home of a manufacturer of distinctive feather products.

Old Brush Works, Axminster
According to a local history book I looked at in a local bookshop, this was indeed a brush works. It is now in use by a firm of feather dyers and bleachers - Jaffe et Fils. It is described as an asymmetrical block of three storeys, stone-built with brick dressings and some iron-framed windows. A small crane survives high on the gable end - I failed to spot this at the time. The date stone above reads 1877.

Axminster - old factory/mill
On the right is the Old Brush Works, now used by a firm of feather dyers and bleachers. On the left is a former textile mill - Castle Mill. This has a three storey brick castellated block in front of a two storey stone and brick mill. This particular mill is difficult to get good views of.
