According to a local history book I looked at in a local bookshop, this was indeed a brush works. It is now in use by a firm of feather dyers and bleachers - Jaffe et Fils. It is described as an asymmetrical block of three storeys, stone-built with brick dressings and some iron-framed windows. A small crane survives high on the gable end - I failed to spot this. The date stone above reads 1877.
