Path to Starling Lane, Cuffley

Tolmers Road, Cuffley
Looking north from the junction with Acorn Lane and Oak Lane where there are substantial detached houses set well back from the road. Cuffley was once on the edge of the Tolmers Estate which can trace its origins to the 13th century when Walter de Tolymer was tenant-in-chief of lands around Hatfield Great Park. The Tolmers name crops up in various locations in this part of Hertfordshire.

Cuffley: postbox № EN6 114, Tolmers Road
This Edward VIII-reign postbox stands close to the junction with Acorn Lane. As he reigned for less than a year and abdicated in frowned-upon circumstances, boxes bearing the cipher of Edward VIII are few and far between. There are perhaps just over 100 in present-day use.
