A Gresley K3 class 2-6-0 on Up ECML freight approaching Potters Bar, 1946
View eastward across the LNER ECML where it used to narrow from four tracks to two just before Potters Bar (& South Mims) station. It being still shortly after WW2, LNER Gresley K3 class has only just been renumbered 1828 from its original (11/24) No. 111 - and remains absolutely filthy: under BR it became 61828 and was withdrawn in 3/61. [This was one of my very first efforts to snap a moving locomotive photograph, with a box camera, hence it was not quite sharp].
