Noel Buckley (Sgt)

I joined Hertfordshire Constabulary in 2002 starting as an Intervention Officer in St Albans then becoming a Detective in 2004. I then joined the Safer neighbourhood team, Hertsmere in 2012 and worked in both Borehamwood and Bushey as a Sergeant then moved to Potters Bar and Shenley in 2016 where I look after a team of PCs and PCSOs.

+
Alex Smedley (Sgt)

I joined Hertfordshire Constabulary in 2009 where i began working as a PCSO in Hatfield. I predominantly worked alongside the University of Hertfordshire on the Uni Police Team, which led me to becoming involved with most of the Town. In 2014, I joined as a Police Constable, stationed at Hertford Police Station for 2 years before returning to Welwyn Hatfield as a Safer Neighbourhood Police Officer. Here, I took responsibility for Welwyn Garden City Town Centre and the Handside Ward. In 2020, I began the promotion process of becoming a Sergeant by managing the response team based out of Hatfield, before returning to the Safer Neighbourhood Team as the Sergeant looking after the Hatfield West Ward. Much of my career has been dedicated to Safer Neighbourhood Policing and is an area that I am passionate about. Community policing is an extremely powerful tool to build confidence in policing and to help the local people and businesses to feel included, safe and reassured.
