My teams are responsible for longer term problem solving with our partners within our communities/ towns, engaging with our communities to build up trust and confidence and tackling neighbourhood crime. I also manage the community safety unit in Hertsmere which deals with ASB , Licensing matters and hate crime.

Residents previously asked us to focus on the following issues:

Address speeding in Potters Bar and Shenley
• Numerous speeding operations have been carried out, with over 800 vehicles checked. A number of tickets were issued, in addition to warnings given to drivers who were found to be speeding.

Continue work to tackle anti-social behaviour in Darkes Lane, Potters Bar
• Regular high visibility patrols have been carried out. Numerous young people have been given banning orders, preventing them from entering McDonalds for 6 months. Another young person has been issued with an Acceptable Behaviour Agreement.

Regular high visibility patrols are being carried out. Numerous young people have been given banning orders, preventing them from entering McDonalds for 6 months. Another young person has been issued with an Acceptable Behaviour Agreement.

We have been working with the local schools and businesses to identify young people causing issues and helping to divert them to a better path.

Tackling burglaries across the area through enforcement and crime prevention engagement

Marked and unmarked patrols have also been taking place.
Officers and PCSOs have completed over 10 street meets and engagements. Whilst at each location they have spoken to residents one on one and given out crime prevention advice and crime prevention tools. They’ve also encouraged the residents to sign up to Herts connected.
