Corner Shop, Alston Road
Detail of a one-time corner shop, now an electrical contractors office, at the junction with Lucan Road. The paint is peeling and the telephone number is out of date, so I wonder if it is still in use.

Alston Works
Once The Dental Manufacturing Company Ltd factory, this building is now a mix of office units and a gym.
In 1901 the managing director of the company set up a football club for the employees, Alston Works Athletic FC. The club merged with Barnet Avenue FC in 1912 to become Barnet & Alston FC and founder members of the Athenian League.
