Arkley Lane in the snow
There are a few houses down this lane. The tarmac surface runs out and it becomes a bridleway until it comes out on the A1.

View from Arkley Lane
Arkley Lane is a quiet country lane which leads out from Arkley into the Hertfordshire countryside through to Saffron Green. Although the southern section has been tarred, the northern end is still a green lane. It is thought to be an old drovers' road. The fields alongside are in the Green Belt and largely used for 'horseyculture'.

This point marks the end of the London urban area in Arkley. Suburb in this direction, rural in the other. You only need to turn round and look over the fence to the left.
