Station Parade
The shops on both sides of Cockfosters Road sit on service roads such as this one. The large building on the corner was once a bank. At one time all of the ground floor windows were boarded up, so with two of them open again it looks like someone is moving in.

Cockfosters Underground station
The extension of the Piccadilly line between Finsbury Park and Arnos Grove opened on 9th September 1932. Southgate Underground station opened on 13th March 1933 with the extension to Oakwood, and the line finally reached Cockfosters on 31st July 1933.
The station was designed by Charles Holden. Cockfosters station is a Grade II listed building. Cockfosters depot is located between Oakwood and Cockfosters and trains can access or leave it from either direction.
