These cottages were originally homes for the workers in the Small Arms Factory. The Enfield Island Village Estate has been developed on the site of the Small Arms Factory since this photograph was taken

Part of the old Small Arms Factory
The site of the former Royal Small Arms Factory has been redeveloped as a new residential area. Some of the original buildings have been retained. This is beside a non navigable branch of the River Lee a short distance east of the canal section.

Canal Boat in the Village
This is the old canal basin in the heart of the former Royal Small Arms Factory which has been transformed into a new residential area. There is now no connection to the River Lee, so if this boat ever leaves it will have to be by road.
