Despite the name, these appear to be apartments aimed at high-earning professionals, not students.

Crewe Road Gardens
The middle block here has not been brightened up like its neighbours. The stair tower and horizontal detailing is vaguely reminiscent of Art Deco, and I am sure I have seen something similar elsewhere in Edinburgh.

Nos. 21-27 Crewe Place
An unremarkable residential block, distinguished from its neighbours by its flat roof. In the early morning of 29th September, 1940, tragedy struck here when a German Luftwaffe bomber returning from an abortive raid on the Rosyth dockyard jettisoned a 500lb bomb which landed randomly on the house, killing three of its occupants: two young children, Ronald and Morag MacArthur, aged 7 and 5 respectively, and an elderly man in the flat above.
