Britannia Wynd, Haddington, East Lothian
Britannia Wynd preserves the medieval street pattern characteristic of Haddington, with its wedge-shaped layout linking Market Street and High Street. Although good luck finding it on some maps, as it is often nameless, along with other 'modern' names, such as Jail Wynd, only appearing in the 20th century.

Haddington Cross
Note the goat atop the cross. For an explanation, see Image C J Burnett, Dingwall Puirsuivant, wrote in 1986, "There is a local Haddington tradition that a carved stone goat stood on top of the old mercat cross before it was replaced by the present Victorian structure. Unfortunately this was not so as a fragment remains of the former finial (...) and there is clear evidence that it was a Royal Unicorn which decorated the old cross."
