Modern Merry-Go-Round, Ratho Park Recreation Park
Most things round here seem to be called Ratho Park. Ratho Park Road passes by this recreation park, in amongst the houses, and leads to Ratho Park Golf Course, along with its old Category A-listed clubhouse, Ratho Park. To confuse things further a pub on the main A71 road to Edinburgh, about a mile away, is also called Ratho Park. It was wet and windy and getting dark, so unfortunately I never got to see how fast the children can make this one go!

Fare Stage and Milestone
The large stone on the left marks the boundary between the first and second stages on the Union Canal. The smaller stone on the right is one of the original milestones which appear every half mile and show the mileage to either end of the canal (to Hamilton Basin in Edinburgh and to the Forth and Clyde Canal beyond Falkirk).

Moored canal boat at Ratho
No name was visible; it looks as if it might have been modified from its original incarnation, and possibly a summer residence only.
