Building site at the former Dalmore Mill, Penicuik
Flats and houses are under construction at this large site, once occupied by a paper mill. See Image showing the site being prepared before construction started. The walkers are following the route of the old Penicuik railway to Roslin, which skirts the edge of the site.

Dalmore Mill.
The North Esk in Midlothian was home to many paper mills. The Dalmore in Auchendinny is still going strong.
Since the visit, it has closed and is now (Dec 2007) flattened, just like all the other mills on Midlothian waterways. Awaiting redevelopment.
2011 - site still derelict, almost all buildings removed.
