Inner Temple and Middle Temple
We are standing in one of the courtyards of Inner Temple, south of Temple church. Through the archways is one of the courtyards of Middle Temple.

Pump Court, City of London
Pump Court is in the heart of the Temple area of the City of London famous for its association with the legal profession. It links Middle Temple Lane with Inner Temple. Two of the buildings on the left are EH Grade I listed, 4-6 Pump Court http://list.english-heritage.org.uk/resultsingle.aspx?uid=1193870&searchtype=mapsearch nearest the camera and, next to it the white rear façade of 1 Hare Court http://list.english-heritage.org.uk/resultsingle.aspx?uid=1359200&searchtype=mapsearch which takes its address from the adjacent court to the north, to which it runs through.

Pump Court, Inner Temple
One of the four Inns of Court to which all barristers must belong. The Inns resemble Oxbridge colleges with their arrangement in "courts" or "squares".

Church Court, Inner Temple, London
On the right of the picture is the southern side of Temple Church. This ancient and beautiful church was built in 1185 by the Knights Templar, the order of crusading monks founded to protect pilgrims on their way to and from Jerusalem in the 12th century. It is unusual in that it has a round Nave which was the original temple, intended as a likeness to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. The Chancel, the outside of which is shown above, was added about a hundred years later.
