Sphinxes, New Broad Street
No 35 New Broad Street was originally built as Egypt House (hence the sphinxes) to the designs of architect F.W. Marks. The carved sphinxes and associated decorative features by stone masons John Daymond and Son.

Remnants of city walls, next to All Hallows-on-the-Wall
The parish of All Hallows-on-the-Wall is constrained by the medieval walls of London, remnants of which can be seen here running next to the church: although it runs around the north-east quadrant of the city, in places the parish is only a few yards wide.

All Hallows on the Wall
The first mention of a church on this site dates from 1120, the present one was designed by the architect George Dance the Younger and built in 1765-7. It is now the home of The Amos Trust, Greenbelt ACE, Stamp Out Poverty and The Wall Gallery.
