Under construction: Principal Tower, Shoreditch
Principal Tower is a tower within Principal Place, a new mixed-use development on the edge of the City of London in the borough of Hackney – at 175 metres. On completion it will be one of London’s tallest residential buildings. Architects: Foster & Partners.

Shoreditch: South end of Shoreditch High Street
This old property, which is on the east side south of the old Bishopsgate goods station, probably does not have a long-term future. In the left background, the new railway bridge (not yet in service) on the East London Extension line is seen.

The Crown & Shuttle
An unusual name on this derelict pub on Shoreditch High Street. It is linked to the weaving industry established in nearby Spitalfields by Huguenot immigrants. The pub has been empty for some years. Given the rapidity with which pubs get flogged off as houses in other parts of the country and given inner city housing needs, you'd think with a bit of imagination this could have been done up into something more useful by now.
