Another closed pub!
No.8 East Street close to Old Street Underground Station is another public house which has closed in recent years. The tile work echoes more prosperous days. In 1850, the Barclay Perkins Anchor Brewery in nearly Southwark employed 430 men and had the largest output of beer of any London brewer.
