Spa Fields
A park to the south east of Exmouth Market. It is famous for the Spa Fields Riots of 1816, and as the site of an Owenite community in the 1820's. The part of the park seen here was the site of a disreputable burial ground where bodies and coffins were burned nightly to make way for new inmates! The charnel house was sited in the position the park building seen here.

Finsbury Health Centre, entrance
An iconic 1930s modernist building, designed by Berthold Lubetkin; now that it is surrounded by trees and parking, it is not easy to get a good photograph of the building. A drawing of the health centre occurs on a Second World War-era political poster, "Now Win the Peace", arguing the need for extensive post-war change of the type that was eventually to lead to the foundation of the National Health Service.

Interior of Our Most Holy Redeemer Church, Clerkenwell
This Roman Catholic church in Exmouth Street was built between 1887 and 1888. The Buildings of England London 2 states: "The impression is very Italian all round and gave the opinion how some of the Renaissance churches at Venice, or Wren's London churches, must have looked when they were fresh and clean."
