Hackney Telephone Exchange (1)
Situated in Paragon Road E9 6NP, this TE is typical of London's TEs dating from the 1930s with its roof windows jutting out. It serves Clapton Park, Hackney Wick, Homerton, Lower Clapton and South Hackney and used to have AMHerst numbers until the late 1960s. It now has 0208-533, 985 and 986 xxxx numbers, plus some Outer London numbers. Valette Street can be seen to the left of the photo.

Large Post Office and Telephone Exchange, Paragon Road, Hackney, built about 1930 to the designs of Archibald Scott of the Office of Works. Although the post office has been closed for a while, the telephone exchange is still operational.
