Beckton: Garnet Walk, E6
These are somewhat unusual 4-bedroomed semi-detached town houses, one of which is on sale in 2007 for £325,000. On the left of the photograph, and looking more than a little incongruous in its setting, is a totally anonymous obelisk with nothing to say what it is or why it is there. Perhaps someone can enlighten us!

A13, "Trunk road to the sea"
To quote the Billy Bragg song. "Beckton Alps" referred to on the sign, is the former gas works waste heap ahead, now converted into dry ski slopes.
