Hackney Marsh
Hackney Marshes is an area of grassland on the western bank of the River Lea in the London Borough of Hackney. It was incorporated into the Lee Valley Park in 1967. It was originally a true marsh, but was extensively drained from Medieval times. On a typical Sunday, over 100 matches are played by amateur teams in several local leagues.

Poplars and Posts, Hackney Marsh
Hackney Marsh isn't what you would call marsh any more although no doubt it was at one time.
Now it's a big grass field full of sports pitches.
Although it's probably designed to take a lot of flood water if needs be.
This is along the road to the pavilion.
