At the top of the picture on the left can be seen the tower of All Saints Church known locally as the "Old Church" from which the road gets its name. All Saints Churchyard, Chingford
The external features of All Saintsare all Perpendicular. The chancel was being built in 1460 and the south arcade in the late 13th century. The brick porch is early 16th century. All Saints suffered many years of neglect before being restored in 1929. The memorial in the foreground is to Robert Boothby of Friday Hill who died in 1733, also Thomas Boothby "Loved only son" died age 38 in 1735, also of Charlotte Heathcote who died aged 26 in the 19th century.
