Underpass, Chingford Hatch
The old level crossing on Hatch Lane was replaced by this underpass in the 1950s. The suburban line from Liverpool Street to Chingford crosses New Road, Chingford Hatch (A1009). The view is looking west, with central London to the left and Chingford to the right.

The Site of Chingford Hatch Level Crossing
The opproach to what was Chingford Hatch Level Crossing which was closed in 1971.
The closure severed Hatch Lane in two. This shot was taken on the westerly side off Larkshall Road. See photo Image for a shot from the other side of the track.
