Taken looking towards the junction with the Regent's Canal. The towpath is blocked at its far end by construction work and a deviation is in force via various footpaths between Grove Road and the Regent's Canal.

Hertford Union Canal from the western end
The short Hertford Union Canal connects the Regent's Canal with the Lee Navigation, forming a useful cut-off by which boats can avoid entering the River Thames. There are three locks, falling from the Regent's Canal. Here the Hertford Union is seen from its western junction with the Regent's, looking east. The bridge in the distance carries Grove Road (A2105), and the skew bridge just visible beyond it carries Old Ford Road (B118).
