A12 Blackwall Tunnel Northern Approach in Bow
Looking in the direction of the tunnel with the Bow Flyover visible in the distance under the gantry, this used to be (and to be honest I thought it still was!) the A102 road through the tunnel between Charlton and Clapton with a short section of motorway, the A102(M) at either end. The road lost its motorway status when the Greater London Authority was created and took over its management.

Bow Parish Church, London, E3
This graveyard and the C14th church situated immediately behind the photographer are isolated on a long, slim sliver of land sandwiched between two lanes of the A11. This is a view of the eastern-most end of the site, i.e. at the rear of the church, i.e. nearest to the huge Bow roundabout that serves the junction of the A11 and the Blackwell Tunnel Northern Approach Road. The tall property is part of the Bow Bridge Estate. The red bus in the picture is travelling along the Bow High Street (a.k.a. the A11) towards central London.

Rear Graveyard, Bow Parish Church, London, E3
A pair of ground level spotlights in the rear section of the graveyard - i.e. nearest to the huge Bow roundabout that serves the junction of the A11 and the Blackwell Tunnel Northern Approach Road - indicate how important this church is as a local landmark. The tall property in the distance is part of the Bow Bridge Estate. A distant security fence (left of centre) marks the boundary between the end of the graveyard and a small piece of waste land at this end of the long, slim sliver of land that hosts the church and its graveyard, sandwiched by the A11. These two ecclesiastical properties have been here since 1311.
