Stratford International station
This station has proved to be something of a white elephant so far, not least because its trains go no further than Faversham, Margate and Dover. No Eurostar trains to and from the Continent stop here. The original intention was that it would serve as a London railhead for Eurostar trains linking other parts of the country with Continental destinations, thereby enabling them to avoid St Pancras.

Ex-GE 0-6-0 in Stratford Locomotive Yard
A portrait of one of the 90 Holden F48 class medium-size 0-6-0s in the extensive yard of Stratford Locomotive Depot: No. 65507 was built in 10/1900 as No. 1157, becoming LNER J16 No. 8157 (No. 5507 from 1946), rebuilt to J17 in 2/23 and survived until 9/61. (Cleaning of Stratford's numerous freight engines was out of the question).
