St Peter?s Centre across Meeting House Alley, Wapping Green
The small sign reads: Tower Hamlets NHS / St Peter's Centre. The Tower Hamlets website says "Rooms and hall available for hire". Home care and help services are offered from here according to another website. This may be the earlier home of Wapping Health Centre and before that St Peter's London Docks C of E Primary School. There is another entrance in Reardon Street.

St Peter?s Centre, Reardon Street, Wapping
Originally the school associated with St Peter's Church London Docks, it seems to have had a number of uses in later years, including a doctors' practice and the local library. Tower Hamlets website says it has rooms and a hall for hire.

Door and inscription, St Peter?s Centre, Reardon Street, Wapping
Over the door, letters carved in relief read: S PETERS SCHOOLS. The inscription reads: To the / Glory of God / and the advancement of his / Holy Catholic Church / in the religious education of his / children this stone was laid on / the Festival of S Peter AD 1871 by / the Earl of Powis LLD High Steward / of the University of Cambridge / C F Lowder MA Vicar / W H Martin · F W Price Churchwardens of S Peter's.

Turner's Old Star
Turner's Old Star is named after the artist JMW Turner. He inherited two cottages in Wapping and converted them into a tavern and called it 'The Old Star' and installed his mistress, Sophia Booth, as the proprietor. To maintain secrecy during their life together, Turner adopted her surname. As he was fairly short and portly he was known as Puggy Booth.
