Railway at Walthamstow
You don't choose to travel on a line like this for its views, being in a cutting with only the backs of houses on top. This is part of the Gospel Oak to Barking line a little down from Queens Road station. This view is taken from Queens Road and you cannot see the station, which is in fact on Edinburgh Road.

Hoe Street, Walthamstow
The A112, being the main road through Walthamstow from the south. It carries a lot of traffic which does not necessarily move very fast.

Locomotive Shed at Walthamstow, 1960
View westwards near Hoe Street (now Central) Station, from a new electric train from Chingford to Liverpool Street on a running-in service, right at the end of steam operations in November 1960. The Shed, one of many sub-sheds of Stratford, has inside one of the countless N7 class 0-6-2Ts which operated all the (frequent) suburban services from Liverpool Street by this date.

1967 Stock Train
Arriving at platform 2 of Walthamstow Central station from Brixton. The 1967 stock was built for the Victoria Line and has been in service since the line opened in 1968. Built by Metro-Cammell, the trains are capable of fully automatic operation with acceleration, coasting and braking controlled by signals received from track circuits. The system can be manually overridden if necessary. Between 1989 and 1997 the trains were refurbished by Tickford at Rosyth. The stock is currently the oldest tube stock in service on the London Underground and is in the process of being replaced by 2009 Stock (see Image). The last train of 1967 stock is scheduled to be withdrawn in the summer of 2011.
