The Tramworks, Hatherley Mews, E17
The buildings now called "The Tramworks" include converted stables for horses that worked the local tram network. Nearby Hoe street was serviced by horse-drawn trams in the 1880s, operated by the Lea Bridge Road, Leyton and Walthamstow Tramways Company. Horse drawn trams were replaced by an electric service in June 1905. Nowadays, The Tramworks is "an exciting workspace and creative hub in the heart of Walthamstow, providing office and studio space for small to medium sized businesses" http://www.thetramworks.com/ .

Granada Cinema, Walthamstow, in 1989
The photo was taken shortly before the cinema became part of the Cannon chain. It later became MGM, then ABC, and finally EMD before closing in January 2003, following the purchase of the building by the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God. The building remains closed because planning permission to convert the building into a place of worship was refused. It houses the sole remaining original in-theatre Christie cinema organ in the UK.
