Constructional works in progress for yet another Docklands line. This time, it is a line from Royal Victoria to Stratford International, via Stratford. It is being built on the trackbed that was, until a few years ago, occupied by the North London line service between Richmond, Stratford and North Woolwich. The latter was cut back to Stratford and given new platforms, with its old platforms now to be given to the line under construction here. From Stratford, this line will extend over new right-of-way to Stratford International.

In 1999, London Transport's Jubilee Line extension opened to the public. Most of it ran underground, but it came up to the surface at the eastern end. Here a train is seen at Canning Town station. The Docklands Light Railway runs on the level above.

This is taken from the Jubilee Line platforms. Originally these were used by the Docklands Light Railway Beckton line, but when the Jubilee Line came, the DLR was removed to a higher level, above its previous tracks, which were transferred to the Jubilee Line. At this time, tracks on the right were used by North London Line trains on their way to North Woolwich, but this route has been closed and the trackbed is being used for a new Docklands line, which will extend to Stratford International and should be open later this year.
