City Mill Lock from the west
City Mill Lock provides a way for boats to drop into the tidal Waterworks River on the far side of the lock from this vantage point. The Bow Back River in the foreground (blocked to navigation by a boom behind the photographer) sweeps left at the lock and into the Olympic Park.
The blue cottage is the lock-keeper's, currently boarded up.

Lock near City Mill River
Seen from behind the Lock Building (on Stratford High Street).
City Mill River (on the left) flows into Bow Back River (to head to the River Lea Navigational Cut). The lock links between these rivers and Three Mills Wall River.
