Claiming to be the 'Birthplace of Iron Maiden', which is at odds with the Iron Maiden Wikipedia article, although it seems a lot of their very early performances were here.

Stratford: Chevy Chase public house
The pub, which is in Maryland Point, is currently managed by Inn Business. It took some time to track down the original name, but it transpires that it was originally the Hope. The 1881 Census shows the following occupants, at 7 Maryland Point: George PONSFORD, Head of the household, aged 49, born Borliscombe, Devon, occupation Beer Retailer Sarah PONSFORD, his wife, aged 52, born Borliscombe, Devon Sarah Ann PONSFORD, their daughter, aged 21, born Borliscombe, Devon Mary Jane PONSFORD, their daughter, aged 14, born West Ham, Essex, occupation Scholar Ellen PONSFORD, their daughter, aged 8, born West Ham, Essex, occupation Scholar

Maryland Station
Maryland is the first stop east of Stratford on the Great Eastern main line. It was opened in 1873 and called Maryland Point until 1940. The TFL Rail branding is a temporary measure; local services through here are due to become part of Crossrail.
