Grimy grandeur, E14 - The Star of the East
For nearly sixty years as boy and man, waiting at the lights on the A13, this wonderful Victorian edifice has impressed - at last a photograph! Its apparently bragging name is probably that of a famous clipper ship. Despite appearances, the yellow brick building to the right is not a renovation but brand new.

War memorial, St Anne's Church Limehouse
The memorial for those who died in the 1st World War was designed by Arthur G Walker RA. The bronze figure of Christ is on a white stone pillar with the names of the fallen. The pillar is on a cruciform set of steps. On the plinth is a bronze representation of a trench scene, similar to one by the same artist at Shrewsbury College.
