Isle of Dogs from Deptford
Probably the best way to see it. This view is across the River Thames from the in front of the remaining buildings of the Royal Victoria Victualling Yard. New flats dominate the riverfront at Millwall, with Canary Wharf behind.

Hydraulic capstan, Isle of Dogs
Alongside the now blocked off Millwall Dock entrance lock. This would have been used for rope handling and was supplied with high pressure water from a central power station. The works are hidden below the surrounding cheqeuer plate.

Former Millwall Docks entrance
This was the site of the entrance lock and has largely been filled in. The big black object is a preserved hydraulic jigger that was used to open the lock gates. There is a nearby hydraulic capstan too. The Shard is visible in the background.
