"The London"
The Royal London Hospital Whitechapel. Home to Joseph Merrick (the Elephant Man) and the lifesaver for many caught up in the 7th of July 2005 bombings. The Air Ambulance helipad can clearly be seen on top of the building to the right.

Whitechapel bell foundry
The Whitechapel bell foundry is one of very few remaining foundries. The office building shown here fronts onto the main Whitechapel Road (A11) with the factory behind.

Reflections on Blizard Building, Whitechapel
This glass fronted building is on the junction of Newark Street (on the right) and Turner Street (on the left). The building is part of the Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry. The building won the Civic Trust award 2006 and the RIBA regional award (London) 2006. See The crane is heading towards a re-development site of the nearby Royal London Hospital (Whitechapel).

Seen from Stepney Way across the crossroads with New Road. Prominent with its green corner domes is the 1902 Tower House at number 81, one of six former Rowton Houses built in London as hostels for working men.
