Galton's Mill, Belbroughton
This site was occupied by John Savage in the 16th century and leased to Farmer and Galton, gun makers of Birmingham, in 1751. In 1793 Galton installed a cast iron waterwheel and penstock that survive round the back and are believed to be the oldest in the country. Taken over by Isaac Nash in 1846 and used for scythe grinding until 1942. The building is still in commercial use.
