Mary Stevens Park entrance in Stanley Road
The gates and fancy ironwork at this entrance to the park are fairly recent. The main entrance gates off Worcester Street are even more impressive and much much larger. The park itself is very popular, and at weekends can get very crowded. The park was given to the town in the 1920's by Ernest Stevens, who was a wealthy manufacturer of pots and pans. It is named in memory of his wife, Mary Stevens.

The Bandstand, Mary Stevens Park, Stourbridge
The Park's bandstand is here very much in use for its correct function on this Sunday afternoon. Coincidentally another band had performed in the bandstand of Stevens Park, Quarry Bank, two Sundays earlier.

Shrubbery Cottage, 28 Heath Lane, Old Swinford
An interesting public house, being one of the small number of Holden's Brewery pubs. Holden's Brewery was started in 1915 and is still family run. Most of its pubs are in the area traditionally known as the Black Country (because of the smoke from industrial processes). The brewery is at Woodsetton, Dudley.

Shrubbery Cottage, 28 Heath Lane, Old Swinford
Holden's Brewery's Shrubbery Cottage pub in Oldswinford. As well as Holden's range of Black Country ales and mild, the pub offers traditional food. The glass in the left hand ground floor window says Holden's. That in the right, says The Shrub.
