Start of public footpath to Hightrees Farm
The footpath leads off the access road to Starts Green Farm. The little green plate on the post requests, "Please keep to right of way thank you". This might not be that easy, as it is difficult to see where the footpath is supposed to be.

Field, Starts Green Farm
Viewed from the access road and public bridleway to the farm. There were a group of cows in this field, but they were shy, and were all sheltering behind the hedge on the left. There had been an equestrian event going on for several hours, and possibly the frequent coming and going of horses along the bridleway had alarmed them. It should be said there is no public right of way into or over this field.

Entrance to Shatterford Wood
The public bridleway enters the northern side of the wood at this point. The wood is managed by the Forestry Commission, and this part, known as Arley Wood, is public access land. Image

Forestry Commission sign at entrance to Shatterford Wood
Perhaps rather surprisingly, the Forestry Commission regard this wood as part of the Wyre Forest. No doubt it was long ago part of it, but today Shatterford Wood is separate from the main part of the Forest. That area is several miles away and on the other side of the River Severn. Image
