Holy Cross Church, Bobbington
There has been a church on this site since the 12th century, although at that time very few people lived in the village. A Victoria restoration took place in 1878 but much earlier work remains. In past centuries invocations to both St. Nicholas and St. Mary have been recorded, but Holy Cross was used consistently from the late 1880's.

Memorial to Prince William of Gloucester
I remember seeing this on the television news whilst on holiday with my family staying with relatives in Dumfries in Scotland. Until today when I found this memorial I had never given a thought as to where the aircrash took place. The inscription on this wall memorial in Bobbington church reads: 'IN MEMORY OF H.R.H PRINCE WILLIAM OF GLOUCESTER AND HIS FRIEND LT. COMMANDER VYRRELL MITCHELL R.N. (RET) WHO LOST THEIR LIVES AT HALFPENNY GREEN WHEN THE PRINCE'S AIRCRAFT CRASHED ON 28TH AUGUST 1972.'
