Semi-detached Houses, High Street, Kingswinford, Staffordshire
Tall and imposing, early 20th Century semi-detached red-brick houses. Situated close to a similar vintage long terrace. How long will these escape the clutches of the developers? The rest of the street shows random very uneven development for the last 100 years!!

Terraced Houses, Kingswinford High Street, Staffordshire
This rather majestic Terrace (Edwardian?) has seen better days, but for how long will it be safe? The whole street has been developed around them, piecemeal, into a hotchpotch of buildings dating from all periods of the twentieth century. Looking around, one can sense the developers are waiting to pounce!

New Houses, High Street, Kingswinford, Staffordshire
This is the only example I intend to submit of the kind of modern buildings now littering the High Street. Some are more attractive developments, but it is all being done piece-meal, hence the present "hotch-potch" of residences covering over 100 years!! The developers seem to be waiting to pounce on each property as it comes up for sale. I do hope they slap a preservation order on the remaining Edwardian residences!

J M Motoring Services Ltd., Stream Road, Kingswinford near Dudley
A local garage and MOT test centre. The building has an interesting history. It was originally a factory but for a few years in 1928-1932 it was a Midland Red bus garage. Only part of the building can be seen here, the remainder is better viewed from what is now a footpath from The Portway (road) adjacent to the back of the car park of The Portway public house.

West end of Manor Park, Kingswinford
Used for buses terminating in Kingswinford, Manor Park forms a 90 degree crescent between Market Street and High Street, around the back of the shops, and thus can be used as a terminus by buses approaching from any direction. In the past, several buses terminated here, meaning there was often a bus laying over in the layby. However, when I visited only routes 5 and 657 terminated here, as most routes now go through Kingswinford on their way to somewhere else.

The Portway, Kingswinford near Dudley
The Portway is both the name of this road and of the adjacent public house, which stands on the corner of Stream Road and The Portway.
