The Angle Ring Co Ltd, Tipton
This company has been bending and curving metal and alloys for over 70 years. This very clever logo uses the company's product to circle a dome acting as a world globe.

Commemorative plaque, Tipton
This orange plaque is on the works of The Angle Ring Co Ltd and celebrates an important event in the history of technology - Boulton & Watt's first commercial steam engine to drain a colliery. There is an earlier plaque on a nearby house and I suppose they are both 'near' the spot!

Roman Mosaic
The business was bought out of administration in 2004 by Tiles UK. In its heyday tiles were produced on this site but like other firms it became an importer and distributor. There was for many years a prominent advertising mosaic nearby at the 'Roman Mosaic' island on the Birmingham New Road.

The Angle Ring Co Ltd, Tipton
This company has been bending and curving metal and alloys for over 70 years. The huge entrance arch is an example of the company's work and there is also a half globe hung on the wall further up the road that gets the company recognised far and wide.

Commemorative plaque on a house, Tipton
This old plaque has now been superseded by a modern round orange plaque nearby. It reads as follows:-
NEAR THIS SITE
IN 1776
THE FIRST COMMERCIAL BEAM ENGINE
TO THE DESIGNS OF
JAMES WATT
WAS ERECTED BY
MESSRS BOULTON & WATT
FOR
MESSRS BENTLEY & CO
THIS TABLET
WAS UNVEILED BY
THE RIGHT HON.
THE EARL OF NORTHESK
27TH MAY 1959
IT WAS ERECTED BY THE DIRECTORS OF
BRITISH ROLLING MILLS LTD
IN CO-OPERATION WITH
THE NEWCOMEN SOCIETY
It is now on a more modern house and was presumably affixed there following the demolition of its original site. It is rather difficult to read, even when zoomed in and therefore I have typed it out in full above.
