Peace Stone
A stone remembrance of Bert Bissell MBE (1902-1998), a freeman of Dudley and lochaber and holder of the World Methodist Peace Prize. The founder of the Peace Cairn on the top of Ben Nevis in 1945. Blessed are the Peacemakers.

Statue of Apollo, Dudley
Located in Coronation Gardens. The bronze statue (1939) is the work of sculptor William James Bloye (1890-1975). http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1986277 to a closer view. Apollo is an Olympian deity in ancient Greek and Roman religion and mythology. Apollo is the son of Zeus and Leto. His twin sister is the huntress Artemis.
