Footpath from Pinta Drive to Tesco supermarket, Stourport-on-Severn
Behind the camera position is a kissing gate and then Pinta Drive, where this footpath begins. Originally it just led down to the meadows adjacent to the Severn and Stour rivers. Recently it has been extended via a footbridge over the River Stour to provide a link to the new Tesco supermarket. From there it is possible to get to Severn Road and the town centre.

Footbridge over River Stour, Stourport-on-Severn
This footbridge has been installed primarily as part of a pedestrian route from Pinta Drive, and other roads off Worcester Road, to the new Tesco supermarket and Severn Road. The lack of adequate street lighting (one solitary light) is likely to deter many people from using it during the hours of darkness.

Construction of new Tesco supermarket, Severn Road, Stourport-on-Severn
The store is being built on part of the site of the former Bond Worth carpet factory. It is due to open in September 2014. The rest of the site is destined for housing. Photographed through one of the "public viewing points". See:- Image

The last traditional shop front, 35 Mitton Street
Gilgal and its continuation Mitton Street used to have quite a number of shops with traditional shop fronts like this. But today almost all have reverted to residential use and the shopfronts have gone. This leaves just 35 Mitton Street with a traditional shop front. Trading in this area isn't helped by being on part of Stourport's one-way system which makes walking round here a stressful experience.
