Hartlebury Signal Box
Just by the level crossing is Hartlebury Signal Box. This was built by the Worcester firm of McKenzie & Holland about 1875. They were well known for their signalling equipment and were later taken over by another company who eventually shut the Worcester works in 1921. The signal box is thought to be one of the oldest still operational on lines formerly operated by the Great Western Railway.

Brickworks at Hartlebury
The Austrian group Wienerberger has taken over the Baggeridge Brick site at Hartlebury. This is still very much a working production site using locally dug clay. Part of the clay pits has been turned over to landfill.

Hartlebury level crossing and signalbox
The signalbox remains in place solely due to the proximity of road junctions to the level crossing. It no longer contains a lever frame, all signals and the crossing being controlled from a desk-type "control switch" panel.
