Footpath running through Vicarage Farm Heath, Kidderminster, Worcs
This is the main footpath running north to south, mainly adjacent to the western edge of the industrial premises on Stourport Road, from which it is securely fenced. A glimpse of some of those premises can be seen on the right. The southern end, shown here, starts just behind the camera position from an entrance in Walter Nash Road West. The northern end comes out on a green area within easy walking distance of the Loom & Shuttle public house. There are other entrances from the Birchen Coppice Estate. Image

The Radcliffe Arms, Meredith Green, Kidderminster
This is the local public house for the large Birchen Coppice council built housing estate in the south west of Kidderminster. Building of the estate commenced in 1946, so the public house was probably built around the 1950's. It faces onto a large green, part of which can be seen here.

Vicarage Farm Heath - sign, Walter Nash Road West, Kidderminster, Worcs
White lettering on a light green background doesn't make for very legible signs. But that was the choice here, on this sign for Wyre Forest District Council's nature reserve. Image

Vicarage Farm Heath, Walter Nash Road West, Kidderminster, Worcs
This nature reserve was opened in December 2002 but doesn't seem to be very well known. Perhaps that is not a bad thing as previously it was used to dump abandoned cars, and other anti-social practices. Today it is an attractive place to visit. It consists of pine woodland and lowland heath. Extending to eleven hectares (27 acres), it is home to insects including bee wolves, which are rare wasps that hunt bees. There are several entrances to the reserve.
