Gates at end of Milldale Close, Kidderminster
Milldale Close is off Lyndhurst Drive, both residential roads. These gates are at the end of Milldale Close and can give access to the Woodland Garden in Springfield Park. However they are not normally in use and are kept locked. This prevents direct access from these roads to the garden and park. To the left of the gates is the Milldale Memoriam, a war memorial. Milldale Memoriam, Woodland Garden, Springfield Park, Kidderminster
This is a very recent memorial to those who died in the First World War. It was erected in 2014 by the Friends of Springfield Park. It consists of a cross with plaque, surmounted by a replica poppy. At the base is a sandy area, also in the form of a cross, where local people can insert their own tributes to relatives who died in the war. It is in a small area of the Woodland Garden which forms a remembrance garden. The cross is by the gates at the end of Milldale Close.
The wording on the plaque reads, "Milldale Memoriam 1914-1918 We will remember them FoSP".
