Collection of signs on North Street, Milborne Port
Unlike all the other signs fingerposts were left unchanged in 1964, and have no official national design since then (as well as local versions which were always an option), with each council making them their own ways. Most use the national font but otherwise can be any colour and variations of shape.

The North Street turning is on the right. The Tippling Philosopher inn is further down London Road, on the right. The eighteenth-century Town Hall is in shadow on the left. It dates from the days when Milborne Port was a 'rotten borough' like Ilchester, before the Reform Act of 1832
