Plume of Feathers, Half Moon Street, Sherborne
Grade II Listed pub of 1625 extended in the 19th century. The front retains 16th or early 17th century windows and the pub's website claims it to date back to 1590. Many directories describe it is "P.H. & dining rooms" and otherwise include; 1842-1844 William Lintern; 1851-1852 Benjamin Bowring; 1855 Daniel Chubb; 1859 T Yeatman; 1875 Charles Hill; 1889 Walter Baker; 1895 Mrs Jane Baker; 1911-1915 The People's Refreshment House Association Ltd. Sherborne War Memorial
Located outside the Abbey, viewed across Half Moon Street. The Sherborne Museum website states that the Memorial was designed by William Douglas Caroe FSA and executed in Doulting stone by John Merrick of Glastonbury. The unveiling ceremony was performed by the Earl of Shaftesbury on November 11th 1921. Two years later one hundred and seventy five names of the fallen in the Great War were inscribed on metal plates and attached to the plinth.

Sherborne: Wingfield Digby memorial and Digby Road
A similar picture to Image, but from a bit further round and on a less sunny day, giving us a better view down Digby Road. The Wingfield Digby family have lived in Sherborne Castle since 1617 and they continue to live there today.
