Portland: postbox № DT5 57 and phone, Straits
The new-looking square of tarmac below the postbox suggests correctly that it is a recent addition to the southern side of Straits, the main road south out of Easton.
It replaces a large wall box outside the post office, which closed in December 2011. The post office reopened within a newsagent in May 2012 and, some time in 2013, the postbox has been positioned here, a few doors along.

Easton, Corner House Inn
Friendly corner pub at the junction of Wakeham and Straits. Two rooms, with curving bar, displays of cigarette cards, background music, games machine and darts. Cask ales on offer at my visit: Adnams Southwold, Morlands Old Speckled Hen and St Austell Tribute.
